Judy Davis In Kenya Home
Please note a change in e-mail for the time in Kaimosi: nursejudydavis@gmail.com.
It is January 26, 2011. I am in kaimosi, Kenya at the Friends Mission Hospital. I arrived two days ago and have spent most of my time in Hospital Board and Committee Meetings. I have been so excited to greet my friends and them to greet me. They all ask about my family and Nurse Debra who accompanied me for two months in 2010.. The potentially big improvement in my little apartment is a new sewer system. The septic tank has been installed but more work is needed to get all four apartments hooked up to it and have it working for all four of the apartments occupants. This has been a big issue since I first arrived on campus in 2007. Some things however don't change. I have not had running water since I arrived. The mood on campus is upbeat and morale greatly imporved. When you live on the equator the sun comes up fast and goes down just as fast. I'm watching the sun rise right now. The weather is so different than my home in Iowa right now. The temperature was about 80 degrees at noon yesterday and gets down to about 75 at night. There are not supposed to be mosquitoes right now but there are. I heard them buzzing me outside of the mosquito net last night. Please post comments and questions on my blog. My love and thanks for all your support of my service in Kaimosi Friends Mission Hospita.
